Henry Cejudo background
Jorge Cejudo and Nelly Rico, two Mexican immigrants, gave birth to Henry Cejudo in Los Angeles, California. Of their seven children, he is the second youngest. However, because of his father’s drug and alcohol abuse, his childhood was characterized by violence and instability.
When Henry Cejudo was four years old, his mother Nelly fled to New Mexico with him and the other kids in order to get away from Jorge’s abusive behaviour. After threatening to kill his entire family and getting into a street fight, Jorge had been imprisoned.
When Henry Cejudo was six years old, Jorge was deported after receiving his release from prison, and he passed away when Cejudo was around 20. The family then relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where they struggled to make ends meet despite Nelly working multiple jobs.
