At first, it was reported that he was in critical condition, but later updates said he was awake and not critically hurt. However, more medical tests were needed to figure out exactly why the accident happened. Nathan was supporting his teammates in cycling events when this happened, and it worried his fellow riders a lot, who are hoping he gets better soon.

Who is Nathan Van Hooydonck?

Nathan Van Hooydonck is a Belgian cyclist who currently competes for Team Jumbo-Visma on the UCI World Team.  As a junior, he won several events, including the Keizer der Junioren and the national under-23 road race championship. He began his professional career with BMC in 2017 and will join Jumbo-Visma in 2021.
