Tracey Erickson Obituary, Death- We regret to inform you of the unexpected departure of Tracey Erickson, a valued member of our team and a beloved friend, who left this world on October 5, 2023. Tracey’s bravery and determination saw her through a difficult and protracted battle with breast cancer. She showed incredible fortitude and perseverance.

A part-time employee in July 2001, she was immediately thrust into the fast-paced, high-stakes world of the Regional Communications Center. In October of that year, because of her hard work and talent, she was promoted to the position of Communications Supervisor.

Tracey has made steady professional progress over the years, first as a shift supervisor and now in the critically important position of quality assurance for our business. Tracey received a prestigious promotion to Quality Assurance/Training Supervisor in August of 2013.

Her extraordinary achievements didn’t stop there; she briefly served as the Interim Director, proving her adaptability and devotion to our organization’s growth and well-being. Tracey’s knowledge and dedication were in high demand outside of our firm, and she was frequently consulted by other businesses for help with quality assurance initiatives.

The Penobscot Regional Communications Center could not have functioned without Tracey Erickson, and her impact was not limited to her official duties. She was crucial in the formation of our quality assurance processes, the creation of our training initiatives, and the overall development and success of our organization.

She was an inspiration to others with her selfless dedication to the field of emergency communications. Remarkably, Tracey stayed at her role at our agency until very recently, a few weeks after she was diagnosed with cancer. Her steadfast devotion and passion for the 911 profession are a monument to her illustrious character.

We will let you know when we have further information to share with you about the memorial services and tributes being planned to honor Tracey’s memory. During this time of loss, we ask that you give Tracey’s loved ones the space they need to mourn and honor her memory.

Although the Penobscot Regional Communications Center will never be the same without Tracey Erickson, she has left an indelible mark on it through her expertise, dedication, and compassion. Everyone who knew her loved her and will miss her dearly.
