Falicia Holmes, the mother of YNW Melly’s ex-girlfriend Mariah Hamilton, took the stand on day 4 of the trial in the murder case involving the rapper.

Falicia said she felt threatened by law enforcement during her testimony, which involved questions about her daughter’s past relationship with YNW Melly.

The 23-year-old rapper, charged with two counts of first-degree murder, was seated with his attorneys in the courtroom while his ex-girlfriend‘s mom testified.

YNW Melly and Mariah Hamilton dated in the past

Melly and Mariah used to date in 2018, the latter’s mother confirmed during her testimony today.

Not much information is available about how they met, but Mariah is now 22 years old and isn’t dating the rapper anymore.

While questioning Falicia, the prosecutors showed pictures from Mariah’s phone gallery dating back to 2018. Melly’s former girlfriend’s mother was asked about the alleged video call the rapper made to his girlfriend on the day of the shooting.

When asked if she told the truth to the law enforcement officers who interrogated her just after the crime unfolded, Falicia said she couldn’t remember what she had told previously about the incident or the rapper.

When she was called to the stand, Falicia said she wasn’t comfortable talking about the incident, but she wouldn’t want to lie about the same and end up in jail as a result.

In the courtroom footage shared on Law & Crime’s official YouTube channel, she is heard saying: “I’m saying what you want me to say”, and claimed, “I do remember that they (police) bullied me and threatened my daughter.”

Falicia was asked to identify Melly who was seated in the courtroom and she flashed a wide smile at the rapper upon spotting him.

She also admitted to knowing Melly’s mother Jamie-Demons King from the past when their children were involved romantically.

The trial is ongoing

Melly hasn’t won the trial or been found innocent as some recent rumors claim. The case is still ongoing.

The rapper is under trial for allegedly killing two childhood friends in 2018 and staging it to look like a drive-by shooting with his co-defendant, YNW Bortlen.

With the new law in Florida which makes it the state with the least threshold for capital punishment, Melly could face capital punishment if he is found guilty.

He was arrested in February 2019 and his bond was denied. He has pleaded “not guilty”.
